David Bardowell serves as the Senior Pastor of The Gate Christian Bible Church, the church he planted. His passions are to preach and teach the Word of God in order to prepare the Church for Christ's return, and to lead worship with an authentic heart for God's people to draw closer to Him. David has served in full-time ministry since 1993. He has served as worship pastor at various churches, including Saddleback Church.
David loves The Gate because it is a church where people can be honest and sincere. The people of The Gate are a loving church family that takes God seriously but loves to laugh and have fun. The Spirit of the Lord is present at The Gate revealed by our unity in Christ and with one another.
David loves to play golf (although he isn't very good at it), study and read, write sermons, preach and teach the Bible, play music and lead worship. He also loves to exercise and watch baseball.
David is a closet accordion player who also plays piano and sings. He loves to write songs and his recent release, Rearview Mirror with Destiny Forever featuring John Stamos, has reached the top of Spotify streaming charts. He used to tour with well-known recording artists, including The Beach Boys. He's also made appearances on the TV sit-com, Full House.
Pastor David is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Theology from Gateway Seminary. He has been married to his wife Deborah for over 30 years and has three grown children.
